Critical Antimony Shortage Threatens U.S. Military Capabilities

The company's Trojarova Antimony Project in Slovakia boasts a historical resource of over 61,998 tons of antimony, potentially worth around $2 billion at current market prices.

The antimony shortage has led to a dramatic increase in prices, which have more than tripled since earlier this year from $12,000 per ton to over $38,000. This price surge reflects the growing recognition of antimony's strategic importance and the scramble to secure supplies.

The U.S. Department of Defense and its Western counterparts are now urgently seeking new sources of antimony. This situation underscores the broader challenge of critical mineral supply chains and the risks of overreliance on a single country, particularly a strategic competitor like China, for essential resources.

The antimony crisis also highlights the need for a comprehensive strategy to secure supplies of other critical minerals essential for both military and civilian applications.
