Eighty-four churches across Ethiopia have changed their signboards to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, representing a significant religious transformation driven by pastors who mastered the New Covenant Revelation and aim to spread this teaching throughout the country.

A total of 84 churches across 10 cities in Ethiopia have officially changed their church signboard names to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. This mass conversion represents one of the most substantial religious shifts in recent Ethiopian history, indicating a growing influence of international religious movements within local Christian communities. The signboard changing ceremony hosted by Shincheonji Church's Peter Tribe on September 10th marked the formal declaration of these churches' alignment with the South Korea-based religious organization.
The 84 church pastors participating in the ceremony declared their commitment to spreading the teachings they had mastered. They stated, "We have become members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, having mastered the word of the New Covenant Revelation. We resolve to preach this word throughout Ethiopia, so that both pastors and believers alike may follow only the truth and devote themselves more fervently to the ministry of the word." This collective declaration suggests a coordinated effort to transform religious education and practice across multiple Ethiopian communities simultaneously.
The transformation was catalyzed by Ethiopian Pastor Asefa Angeto, who participated in the 2nd Global Invitation Revelation Seminar held in November 2024 at the Shincheonji Cheongju Church in South Korea. After returning to his home country, Pastor Asefa continued to lead local seminars based on what he had learned, effectively becoming a conduit for the dissemination of Shincheonji teachings. His extensive outreach efforts, traveling to more than 100 churches in 10 cities, demonstrate the strategic and systematic approach behind this religious movement's expansion.
A representative from Shincheonji Church's Peter Tribe provided context for the broader implications, stating, "Currently, 181 pastors in Ethiopia are learning the revealed word from Shincheonji Church of Jesus. We will continue to make known the fact that the prophecies of Revelation have been fulfilled today, and we will do our utmost so that churches around the world may become united through the word." This statement reveals an ambitious global unification agenda centered around specific interpretations of biblical prophecy. The church signboard changes are being viewed as a breakthrough within the Ethiopian Christian community, potentially signaling shifting theological alignments and the increasing globalization of religious movements that transcend traditional denominational boundaries.
