Ashby Ponds Residents Fund Future Leaders with Over $370,000 in Scholarships

The generosity of Ashby Ponds residents has set a remarkable precedent in supporting the educational aspirations of young students. Fifty high school students, who have shown exceptional dedication as employees within the Ashby Ponds community, were recently awarded scholarships totaling more than $370,000. This initiative not only underscores the community's commitment to fostering future leaders but also emphasizes the importance of education and hard work.

To be eligible for the four-year scholarship, students were required to work 1,000 hours over two years, maintain good academic and professional standing, and plan to attend a college, university, or trade school full-time. The scholarships, ranging from $12,000 to $22,000 for named awards, and an additional $5,000 for children of Ashby Ponds employees, represent a significant investment in the students' futures. Furthermore, 32 college students received the One-Year Scholars Award of $3,000 each, recognizing their ability to balance work and studies.

Executive Director Tom Channon highlighted the profound impact of these scholarships on the students' lives, noting the residents' generosity as a cornerstone of the community's values.
