ATAP Foundation Partners with Scouting America to Launch Scout Troop 611 for Willingboro Youth

The All Things Are Possible (ATAP) Foundation has launched Scout Troop 611 through a partnership with Scouting America, bringing a values-driven program to youth in Willingboro this fall. The troop will serve boys and girls ages 5–10, offering a safe environment for hands-on learning, leadership development, and outdoor exploration. This initiative represents a significant collaboration between community organizations to address youth development needs in the region.

Dr. Tiffani Worthy, Executive Director of the ATAP Foundation, emphasized the program's importance, stating that the troop serves as a pathway to purpose rather than just an after-school activity. The foundation's mission focuses on empowering youth with tools to lead, serve, and succeed, with scouting aligning perfectly with these objectives. The partnership demonstrates how community organizations can work together to create meaningful opportunities for young people's growth and development.

Patrick Linfors, Scout Executive/CEO of the Garden State Council, highlighted the shared commitment between both organizations to the health and well-being of young people. The collaboration aims to foster character development, citizenship, personal fitness, and leadership skills in children. This partnership reflects the growing recognition of scouting's role in developing well-rounded individuals who can contribute positively to their communities.

The troop concept emerged during ATAP's after-school program and Summer Empowerment Experience, where students participated in live Scouting demonstrations. Children engaged in activities focused on teamwork, problem-solving, and outdoor skills, discovering that scouting encompasses more than just earning badges. The positive response from participants validated the need for such programming in the community and demonstrated scouting's appeal to modern youth.

Through this partnership, Troop 611 will offer youth opportunities to build character and confidence, learn essential life and leadership skills, experience hands-on community service, enjoy outdoor adventures and creative learning, and develop a strong sense of responsibility and belonging. These components address critical developmental needs for children in the 5-10 age range, providing foundational skills that can benefit them throughout their lives.

Linfors added that the collaboration brings fun and adventure to growing numbers of people in Burlington County, with both organizations working together to produce caring, happy, and successful adults that families, workplaces, and communities need. Enrollment is now open for children living in Willingboro and surrounding communities, making this valuable program accessible to a broad range of families seeking quality youth development opportunities.
