Best Friends Fur Ever and SARC Exceed Fundraising Goal for Survivor Pet Housing

Best Friends Fur Ever (BFFE) partnered with the Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center (SARC) to exceed a fundraising goal of $7,000, aimed at supporting SARC’s onsite kennel. This initiative allows survivors of domestic violence to remain with their pets, addressing a critical barrier to seeking refuge. The event, held on June 14th in Havre de Grace, featured a family-friendly parade and activities, drawing community support and raising awareness for SARC’s mission.

Luisa Caiazzo, President and CEO of SARC, emphasized the fundraiser's significance beyond financial support, highlighting its role in ensuring safety and compassion for survivors and their pets. BFFE contributed over $2,000, with co-founders Pat and Kelly Cullum matching the amount, demonstrating their commitment to the cause. Kelly Cullum remarked on the importance of keeping families, including pets, safe together, underscoring the community's collective effort.

The success of the fundraiser not only surpasses the initial goal but also strengthens SARC’s capacity to provide essential services to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Harford County. For more information on SARC’s work, visit https://www.sarc-maryland.org.
