Boca Helping Hands' Bowling for Bread Event to Support Weekend Meal Program for Children

Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is set to host its annual Bowling for Bread event on Sunday, August 24, at Lucky Strike in Boca Raton, with proceeds benefiting the BHH Backpacks weekend meal program for children in area schools. The event invites kids from local children’s charities to enjoy bowling, food, and fun at no cost, while community members can support the cause by sponsoring a child, a lane, or making a donation. The Backpacks program, operational for 14 years, provides over 1,100 students in 13 schools with meals and snacks during weekends, addressing food insecurity among elementary students in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach.

Part of the Boca Chamber Festival Days, the event pairs nonprofits with for-profit members of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce to raise awareness and funds. Major sponsors include the Lee Pearlson Steinberg Foundation, which has supported the event for fourteen years, honoring the legacy of Pearl Steinberg's commitment to children's causes.
