Boca Raton Historical Society Launches Multi-Year America250 Initiative with Lecture Series and Exhibit

The Boca Raton Historical Society and Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum are launching a multi-year America250 initiative to commemorate the nation's 250th birthday through educational programming and historical exploration. The initiative features a three-part Town Hall Talks series led by historian Robert Feeney, focusing on the lived experiences of Revolutionary War participants from both sides of the conflict.

The lecture series begins on September 10, 2025, with "The Redcoats Are Coming," examining British soldiers' training, gear, and mindset during the Revolution. The second talk on October 8, 2025, "Continental Soldiers: Washington's Army in the Revolution," explores the trials and triumphs of America's early fighters. The final session on November 12, 2025, "Medicine and Surgery During the Revolutionary War," delves into battlefield surgeries and 18th-century medical practices.
