Comcast Expands High-Speed Internet to Over 4,000 Homes and Businesses in Kansas

Comcast has successfully expanded its next-generation network to Paola and Hillsdale, Kansas, connecting more than 4,000 homes and businesses to reliable, high-speed, symmetrical internet. This development is set to enhance the region's digital infrastructure, promote economic growth, and provide residents and businesses with access to Xfinity and Comcast Business services for the first time.

The project, which involved an investment of over $38 million in Kansas over the past three years, was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Paola's Town Square. Comcast also donated $2,500 to My Father's House, a local nonprofit, during the event, highlighting its commitment to supporting the community beyond just infrastructure development.

Local officials, including Janet McRae, Economic Development Director for Miami County, and Randi Shannon, City Manager of Paola, praised the initiative for its potential to improve access to essential services, foster economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses. April Damron, Executive Director of the Paola Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of reliable internet for education, healthcare, remote work, and business competitiveness.

Comcast's network offers multi-gigabit internet speeds, 99.9 percent reliability, and built-in security features. Residents can now access a full suite of Xfinity products, including internet, video, mobile, voice, and home security services. Businesses, on the other hand, can leverage Comcast Business's comprehensive solutions for connectivity, communications, and cybersecurity to meet their operational needs.

Beyond infrastructure, Comcast is committed to increasing economic mobility in the community through programs like Internet Essentials, which provides eligible households with affordable internet and computers. The company's involvement in local events, such as the Miami County Fair and Paola Roots Festival, further demonstrates its dedication to community engagement and support.
