CUDDLY, in partnership with New York City Second Chance Rescue, introduces the East Coast Rescue Rover to transport at-risk animals from overcrowded shelters to safer environments, addressing shelter congestion and saving lives.

CUDDLY®, a mission-driven company focused on supporting animal welfare organizations, has announced the launch of its East Coast Rescue Rover in collaboration with New York City Second Chance Rescue (NYCSCR). This initiative aims to relocate vulnerable animals from overcrowded shelters to rescues with more resources, significantly reducing the risk of euthanasia for these animals. The Rescue Rover, funded by CUDDLY's subscription program, CUDDLY Club, will operate in NYC, transporting animals from shelters in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn to NYCSCR's new rescue center in Long Island City.
The introduction of the East Coast Rescue Rover comes at a critical time when NYC shelters face increased intake due to various factors, including summer heat and hurricane season. The vehicle will play a pivotal role in alleviating shelter congestion and providing animals with a better chance at adoption. A special event on September 6th will mark the debut of the Rescue Rover, celebrating the rescue of dogs from local shelters with treats and photo opportunities.
Amy Peterson, Director of Event Marketing at CUDDLY, emphasized the importance of the Rescue Rover initiative in saving animals at risk of euthanasia and facilitating their journey to finding forever homes. Jennifer Brooks, President and Founder of NYC Second Chance Rescue, highlighted the alignment of the Rescue Rover with their mission to save and rehabilitate animals, contributing to the over 16,000 lives saved since their inception in 2009.
Following the success of its first Rescue Rover in Austin, TX, CUDDLY is expanding its efforts to NYC, with plans to introduce a third van later this year. The company encourages animal lovers to support local shelters by joining the CUDDLY Club or purchasing CUDDLY's high-quality pet products, which contribute meals to shelter animals in need. This initiative not only aids in the rescue and care of animals but also promotes better health and nutrition for pets awaiting adoption.
