Eaton Fire Lawyers Announce Insurance Bad Faith Hotline Amid Allegations Against State Farm

Eaton Fire Lawyers at The Wagner Law Group have announced the creation of an Insurance Bad Faith Hotline to assist victims of the recent wildfire, coinciding with legislative efforts to address alleged misconduct by insurance carriers. Local legislators are pushing for immediate reforms due to State Farm and other insurers reportedly causing undue harm by refusing to handle legitimate claims promptly and professionally.

The Wagner Law Group, which has handled wildfire cases and other legal matters for over three decades, agrees with legislators that State Farm and other insurance carriers are creating unavoidable hardships through delays, denials, and underpayments. Butch Wagner, Founder of The Wagner Law Group, stated that instead of helping customers, these companies are doing everything possible to delay the rebuilding process.

Assemblyman John Harabedian and other officials are urging Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara to crack down on alleged misconduct by insurers and halt any rate increase for State Farm General, which has already been approved. State Farm General, California's largest home insurance provider, is seeking an 11% rate hike on top of an emergency 17% increase approved by Commissioner Lara in May.

California State Senator Sasha Renée Pérez and Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger have specifically singled out State Farm General for criticism. The Wagner Law Group's wrongful death lawyers support these legislative efforts, noting that this type of insurance bad faith activity is not uncommon, with State Farm frequently being among the most difficult companies for insured individuals to deal with despite years of premium payments.

The Pasadena City Council has taken action to support fire victims by voting unanimously to waive various fees associated with the rebuilding process. This decision followed recommendations from the city's Economic Development and Technology Committee to reduce or eliminate plan check, building permit, refuse, inspection, and utility service fees for eligible single-family and condominium properties affected by the Eaton Fire.

The Wagner Law Group has expressed strong support for the Pasadena City Council's decision, viewing it as an encouraging step that demonstrates understanding of the problems fire victims face. In response to these challenges, the firm has launched the Insurance Bad Faith Hotline to provide no-cost legal advice to determine whether victims can obtain compensation for their losses.
