Foodies Care to Honor Jacksonville Volunteers with Legacy of Leaders Awards

Foodies Care, a nonprofit focused on combating hunger and homelessness in Jacksonville, is set to celebrate the contributions of 12 volunteers at the Legacy of Leaders Awards Ceremony on July 30. The event, taking place at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, will not only honor these individuals but also award each of their nonprofits a $1,500 stipend, contributing to over $115,000 in donations and grants aimed at supporting their missions.

The awards ceremony introduces a series of food-centric fundraising events organized by Foodies Care, designed to engage the community in supporting meaningful causes. These events, including Bourbon & Smoke and Vines & Steins, offer unique experiences while fostering a spirit of generosity and community support.

Founded by Mike White, Foodies Care has grown from a musical production highlighting homelessness to a significant supporter of local nonprofits like Feeding Northeast Florida and Mission House. The organization's approach combines enjoyable events with impactful philanthropy, as emphasized by Anne Ackerson, president of Foodies Care, who highlights the dual focus on fun and tangible change.
