Girl Scouts Honor Five Women Leaders at Emerald Awards Raising Over $110,000

The Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida recognized five exceptional female leaders at the Emerald Awards in Broward County, raising significant funds for programs that empower girls while highlighting the honorees' professional achievements and community impact.

The Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida hosted the prestigious Emerald Awards honoring female leaders in Broward County, raising more than $110,000 to support programs that inspire girls to build courage, confidence and character. Leadership, service and community impact were highlighted as the organization celebrated five remarkable women who shared inspiring stories of their unique paths to success before an audience of more than 200 guests.
Rita Case, president and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Philanthropy, celebrating by wearing her Girl Scouts vest decorated with badges she earned. Case oversees 12 award-winning dealerships across South Florida and Georgia as the nation's largest retail automotive group owned and operated by a woman. Together with her husband Rick, she has spearheaded fundraising initiatives generating more than $100 million for local organizations and co-founded landmark programs including Rick Case Bikes for Kids, Rita Case WOMEN Build with Habitat for Humanity and 4EveryKid with Soles4Souls.
Four additional women were honored for their professional achievements and community service that distinguish them as role models for young women. Alisa Bert, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Broward Health, oversees a $1.9 billion budget and has led transformative initiatives resulting in multiple credit rating upgrades for one of the nation's largest public health systems. Rebecca Bratter, Deputy Managing Partner for Greenspoon Marder, founded the nonprofit Kids Can that encourages children to embrace volunteerism and serves on the Performing Arts Center Authority shaping the future of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
Cindy Mason, Market Leader for Florida Blue in Broward County, oversees operations, sales and marketing strategy with more than 20 years of leadership experience including senior roles at Eli Lilly & Company and Kindred Healthcare. Julie Price, President and CEO of Arc Broward, has dedicated nearly 40 years to advancing inclusion and equity for individuals with disabilities, rising from Direct Support Professional to CEO while leading innovative programs that empower children and adults to achieve their full potential.
Lisa Johnson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, emphasized the importance of these role models, stating that these outstanding women lead with vision and heart, inspiring daughters to find their voice and dream big. The luncheon at the Four Seasons featured a silent auction, honoree recognition and a lively panel discussion with the honorees, emceed by trial lawyer and legal analyst Katie Phang. Major sponsors included UKG as Diamond Sponsor, Publix Super Markets Charities and Rick Case Automotive Group as Ruby Sponsors, and several other corporate supporters contributing to the successful fundraising event supporting Girl Scouts programs across Southeast Florida.
