Habit Burger & Grill, in partnership with Barrett Hofherr, launches a playful campaign targeting competitors after securing top spots in USA TODAY 10Best rankings, emphasizing its dominance in the fast-casual dining sector.

Habit Burger & Grill has once again proven its dominance in the fast-casual dining sector by securing the top spot in three categories of the USA TODAY 10Best rankings, including Best Fast-Casual Restaurant, Best Side, and for the second consecutive year, its Double Char Burger ranked #1. To celebrate these achievements, Habit has partnered with Barrett Hofherr to launch a 10-day campaign titled 'Winning Is A Habit,' which humorously targets its competitors across the nation.
The campaign builds on a previous stunt where Habit playfully trolled In-N-Out with a billboard near LAX, congratulating them on their #2 ranking. This year, the billboard was updated to reflect In-N-Out's drop to #4, showcasing Habit's continued success and its competitors' relative positions. The campaign includes a series of targeted executions, such as sending a paper crown to Burger King for its 9th place and a wrestling belt to Whataburger for its 10th place, all while highlighting Habit's #1 status.
Jack Hinchliffe, Chief Marketing Officer at Habit, remarked on the campaign's playful nature, stating, 'We thought we should help Shake Shack celebrate their not one, but two seventh-place finishes. Participation trophies are still trophies.' The campaign features twelve social videos on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, along with six strategically placed billboards near key competitors, all designed to convert the buzz into increased foot traffic through a special digital offer.
The 'Winning Is A Habit' campaign not only celebrates Habit's achievements but also cleverly turns its victories into a marketing tool, engaging customers and competitors alike. With nearly 400 locations and a growing presence on social media, Habit continues to leverage its recognition to provoke and entertain, ensuring its brand remains at the forefront of the fast-casual dining conversation.
