Hispanic Motor Press Announces Finalists for 2025 Vehicle Awards

The Hispanic Motor Press (HMP) has unveiled its list of finalists for the 2025 Hispanic Motor Press Awards (HMPA), spotlighting vehicles that best meet the needs and preferences of Hispanic consumers. This year's selection, presented by car care brand Meguiar's, marks the 15th annual iteration of these influential awards, which have become increasingly significant as Hispanic buyers now account for one in four new vehicle purchases in the United States.

Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, founder of the Hispanic Motor Press, emphasized the importance of these awards, stating, 'Automotive sales momentum is largely determined today by the Hispanic consumers.' He noted that the awards aim to guide Hispanic car buyers while informing them about advancements in clean and safe transportation options that enhance their vehicle experience.

The jury panel, composed of independent Hispanic automotive journalists, content creators, and industry influencers, evaluated over 200 vehicles across five categories: Electric Vehicle, Family Vehicle, Pickup Truck, Sports Utility Vehicle, and Luxury Vehicle. The finalists were selected based on key automotive purchase drivers for Hispanic consumers, including overall design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, infotainment integration, interior design, environmental requirements, driver satisfaction, and price.

In the Electric Vehicle category, the Chevy Equinox EV, Hyundai Ioniq 6, and Kia EV9 made the cut, reflecting the growing interest in electric mobility among Hispanic consumers. The Family Vehicle finalists include the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Carnival, and Toyota Camry, while the Pickup Truck category features the Chevy Silverado, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma. For Sports Utility Vehicles, the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sorento Hybrid, and Toyota Land Cruiser were selected. In the Luxury Vehicle segment, the Genesis GV80 Coupe, Lincoln Nautilus, and Ram Tungsten rounded out the finalists.
