Hong Kong Technology Fairs to Showcase AI, Robotics and Smart Lighting Innovations

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is staging four major technology fairs this autumn, bringing together over 6,200 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. The events will showcase innovative products and solutions across electronics and lighting sectors, with particular focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart technologies that support smart city development. Sophia Chong, Acting Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized that these fairs align with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's policy direction to promote AI as a core industry for future development.

The 45th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 28th electronicAsia will run concurrently from 13 to 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring more than 3,200 exhibitors. With the theme "World's Leading Electronics Marketplace," the fair highlights AI and robotics applications, the silver economy, and digital entertainment. Notable participants include DEEP Robotics presenting the X30 Quadruped Robodog for inspection and search-and-rescue operations, and BrainCo showcasing Revo2, a bionic dexterous hand that can be used as a prosthetic. The special RoboPark event space will feature over 30 sessions with speakers from leading robotics companies including Booster Robotics and Unitree Robotics.

New exhibition zones include RISE Avenue for emerging electronic technology brands and the Adventure Hub featuring local start-ups showcasing vehicles converted from classic fuel cars to electric vehicles. The Hall of Fame brings together more than 500 world-renowned electronic brands, while the Hong Kong Tech Showcase presents innovation and technology products from local companies. The lighting sector events include the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) from 27 to 30 October and the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo from 28 to 31 October, featuring approximately 3,000 exhibitors. The Hall of Connected Lighting returns with about 60 top-tier brands including GRE Alpha, Foshan Electrical and Lighting, and international names such as Casambi from Finland and Signify from the Netherlands. Moorgen will present collections created in collaboration with leading designers, including a smart switch developed with Chi Wing-lo that won the German iF Design Award.

Several exhibitors will showcase products used in globally renowned projects. GRE Alpha's LED drivers and light strings were deployed at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, while Casambi's lighting control systems were applied at the Sanxingdui Museum, the BBC's London headquarters, and M+ Museum in Hong Kong. Industry alliances including the DALI Alliance and SILA-EMN Alliance will present the full spectrum of the smart lighting ecosystem. The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will feature the Smart Pole and Solution Zone showcasing innovations for smart city planning. Unilumin Group will present its multi-functional Smart Light Pole that integrates lighting, Wi-Fi, electric vehicle charging, and environmental monitoring. The fairs will include thematic forums such as the Innovative Lighting Design Forum and Connected Lighting Forum, exploring topics ranging from smart living ecosystems to sustainable lighting development. The events adopt the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, integrating online platforms like the Click2Match AI-driven business matching platform for virtual participation.
