HSR Backs ZWIA's Updated Zero Waste Hierarchy to Enhance Global Sustainability Efforts

The Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA) has unveiled Version 8.1 of the Zero Waste Hierarchy, with Happy Stan’s Recycling Services Ltd. (HSR) playing a pivotal role in its development. This update introduces strengthened guidance under the 'Do Not Export Harm' principle and a new 'Do No Harm' principle, alongside updated definitions for key sustainability terms, to foster global alignment with Zero Waste goals.

Jamie Kaminski, Chair of the ZWIA Zero Waste Hierarchy Working Group and President of HSR, emphasized the Hierarchy's role in ensuring policies align with the essence of 'Zero Waste'. The updates aim to address contemporary challenges such as chemical recycling and the transition towards a circular economy, as highlighted by Gary Liss, Chair of the ZWIA Certifications Committee.
