Hunky's Cedar Springs Art Show and Auction to Benefit Cedar Springs Merchant Association During Pride Week

Hunky's Cedar Springs is hosting an Art Show & Auction on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, as part of Pride in Dallas Week celebrations. The event features custom portraits by Texas artist Becca Waugh, who has created whimsical artworks inspired by classic Hunky's menu items, transforming food into unique pieces of art. These portraits will be auctioned to benefit the Cedar Springs Merchant Association (CSMA), which plays a vital role in strengthening and celebrating the Oak Lawn community.

The CSMA supports neighborhood beautification, safety initiatives, and small business advocacy through events like the Cedar Springs Wine Walk and the Clover Classic Golf Tournament. This auction highlights the importance of community-driven efforts to preserve the historic and cultural character of Cedar Springs while fostering growth and inclusivity. By bringing people together, the CSMA ensures the area remains a vibrant destination for residents and visitors.

This year's auction will feature portraits of CSMA board members and local Dallas personalities, including Kevin Miller, Lee Daugherty, Jason Preston, Chad Mantooth, Donnesh Amrollah, and community standouts such as Leo Cusimano, Liquor Mini, Brad Pritchett, RAMRODD, Steve Kemble, David Hearn, Wayne Smith/CherPatti Fink, Adam Medrano, Mikey Nguyen, David Taffet, Christine Bengston, Cassie Nova, Jason Hanna & Joe Riggs Family, Wesley Smoot, and Nick Nunley. The event includes a VIP reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for invited guests and a general reception from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. open to the community, with hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and art demonstrations. A suggested $10 donation at the door supports the CSMA, emphasizing the event's role in fundraising and community engagement.

Community partners such as Just Enough Wines, Planteray Rum, Suerte Tequila, US Foods, and Signature Baking Company have provided generous support, alongside Pride in Dallas, which organizes a week of events.
