India Achieves First Comprehensive Stroke Centers Certification by American Stroke Association

The American Stroke Association has certified Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad and Aster Hospital in Calicut as the first Comprehensive Stroke Centers in India, a critical milestone in addressing the country's substantial stroke healthcare challenges. With stroke ranking as the fourth leading cause of death and fifth leading cause of disability in India, these certifications represent a pivotal step toward establishing a more sophisticated and standardized approach to stroke treatment.

The certification requires hospitals to meet rigorous standards, including advanced imaging capabilities, 24/7 specialized treatment availability, active research participation, and specialized staff training. According to D.P.
