inDrive.Money Launches Digital Loan Service for Brazilian Drivers to Enhance Financial Inclusion

inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform operating across 48 countries, has launched inDrive.Money in Brazil to support financial inclusion for drivers by offering quick and convenient access to cash loans within its app. The service partners with EmpreX, a Latin American fintech specializing in financing for small businesses, to provide loans of up to R$3,000 (USD 548) directly through the inDrive application.

Approved borrowers can obtain credit with an average term of five months until the first payment, with approximately 10% to 14% of each ride's value automatically allocated toward loan repayment. This system allows for a smooth process without fixed daily commitments, and drivers retain the flexibility to make payments directly to EmpreX if desired, enabling better cash flow management across multiple platforms.

Globally, drivers and gig workers often face challenges accessing fair financial services, and in Brazil, despite the country's leadership in fintech innovation, many remain underserved by traditional banks that require extensive credit history. Informal loans frequently carry punitive interest rates, creating a significant gap that inDrive and EmpreX aim to address with a transparent and integrated lending solution. This ensures partners have access to financing for needs like vehicle repairs, fuel, or unexpected expenses, strengthening their economic independence.

Through the inDrive app, partners across Brazil can check available offers and apply for credit in just a few clicks, with EmpreX managing the entire assessment process—from analysis to financing—including scoring, terms, and regulatory compliance supported by its partnership with BMP SCD, a licensed Brazilian financial institution. Initial operations show high driver engagement and satisfaction, with 86% of borrowers indicating they would take out another loan if needed and are willing to recommend the solution.

The goal is to expand inDrive.Money to all cities where the platform operates in Brazil, currently available in approximately 90 locations including larger cities like Manaus, Fortaleza, and Belo Horizonte, as well as mid-sized ones such as Campinas and Marabá. By integrating financial services into its app, inDrive continues to combat injustices and expand drivers' freedom, contributing to financial inclusion and the national economy while offering a low-interest alternative to credit card-based solutions in the mobility landscape.
