Lahontan Gold's Exploration Plan Enters NEPA Review, Potentially Expediting Santa Fe Mine Development

Lahontan Gold Corp.'s exploration plan for the Santa Fe Mine Project has entered NEPA review with potential for accelerated approval, supporting staged drilling of more than 700 holes to expand gold and silver resources in Nevada.

Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSXV: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) announced that its Exploration Plan of Operations has entered National Environmental Policy Act review by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The company expects the process to move quickly as a draft Environmental Assessment is already completed. This development represents a significant milestone for the Santa Fe Mine Project in Nevada's Walker Lane mineral belt.
The company also signed a Contributed Funds Agreement to provide funding for additional BLM personnel, which could potentially expedite the review process. CEO Kimberly Ann stated that the plan supports staged drilling of more than 700 holes at the Santa Fe Mine Project, enhancing opportunities to expand gold and silver resources and future mining potential. The Santa Fe Mine project holds substantial mineral resources, with past production of 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver between 1988 and 1995 from open pit mines utilizing heap-leach processing.
The project currently has a Canadian National Instrument 43-101 compliant Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,539,000 oz Au Eq and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 411,000 oz Au Eq, all pit constrained. The company plans to continue advancing the Santa Fe Mine project towards production, update the Santa Fe Preliminary Economic Assessment, and drill test its satellite West Santa Fe project during 2025.
