Martial Arts History Museum to Honor World Champion and Stunt Double Christine Bannon-Rodrigues

The Martial Arts History Museum is preparing to celebrate the remarkable career of Christine Bannon-Rodrigues during a special weekend event scheduled for November 14-16, 2025. This tribute recognizes her dual legacy as both a world champion martial artist and a pioneering stunt performer who helped bring martial arts to mainstream audiences through film and television. The centerpiece of the weekend will be an Honor Day on Saturday, November 15, from 4-6 PM, where Bannon-Rodrigues will receive formal recognition through induction into the Museum's Hall of Fame.

Bannon-Rodrigues stands as one of the most accomplished martial artists in history, having earned nine World Champion titles in karate and weapons forms. Her competitive achievements include the groundbreaking distinction of being the first person to win three gold medals at a single World Games, setting a new standard for excellence in martial arts competition. Beyond the competitive arena, she translated her skills to entertainment, beginning her stunt career by doubling for Hilary Swank in the 1994 film "The Next Karate Kid" and later playing the main villain opposite Cynthia Rothrock in the 2005 action film "Sci-Fighter."
