McKesson Corporation's new organizational structure realigns its business segments to accelerate growth in oncology, multispecialty, and biopharma services while enhancing transparency and shareholder value creation.

McKesson Corporation announced significant changes to its reportable segments and organizational structure, effective in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026. The restructuring aims to enhance strategic alignment and transparency while optimizing portfolio management to drive sustainable long-term value creation for shareholders. The new reporting structure reflects the company's strategic evolution toward accelerating growth in high-margin areas including oncology, multispecialty, and biopharma services.
Britt Vitalone, chief financial officer, stated that the updated reporting structure reinforces McKesson's disciplined approach to capital allocation and shareholder value creation. The company will provide additional details during its upcoming Investor Day on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The event will feature presentations by McKesson's leadership team and a live Q&A session with chief executive officer Brian Tyler and chief financial officer Britt Vitalone.
The new reportable segments include North American Pharmaceutical, which combines McKesson's scaled wholesale drug distribution businesses in the United States and Canada. This segment delivers best-in-class distribution services to retail and community pharmacies, along with institutional healthcare providers. The Oncology and Multispecialty segment represents a newly defined reportable segment that includes integrated solutions across oncology and multispecialty providers, featuring specialty provider solutions and practice management services supporting physician-led, community-based oncology networks.
Prescription Technology Solutions connects patients, pharmacies, providers, pharmacy benefit managers, health plans, and biopharma through scaled, differentiated networks, improving medication access and affordability. Medical-Surgical Solutions delivers medical-surgical supply distribution, logistics, and related services to healthcare providers across alternate sites of care. In May 2025, McKesson announced its intention to separate this segment into an independent company. The Other segment includes distribution and retail operations in Norway, which McKesson entered into a definitive agreement to sell on August 4, 2025.
