Menlo Security Integrates Google Gemini AI to Combat Advanced Phishing Threats

Menlo Security has expanded its integration with Google Cloud, leveraging Google Cloud's Vertex platform with Gemini models to significantly enhance its phishing and credential theft prevention capabilities. This collaboration addresses the growing sophistication of zero-hour social engineering and brand impersonation attacks that frequently bypass traditional signature-based security tools. The integration enables Menlo HEAT Shield AI to utilize advanced AI capabilities for more accurate in-browser threat detection.

According to Ramin Farassat, Chief Product Officer at Menlo Security, social engineering and brand impersonation attacks are becoming increasingly convincing and difficult to detect with conventional security measures. The partnership with Google Cloud allows Menlo to identify and block over 99.5% of these novel threats as they occur directly within the browser. This includes protection against sophisticated attacks such as fake CAPTCHA pages and fraudulent remote tech support scams designed to steal credentials.

In addition to the enhanced phishing protection, Menlo Security is introducing Menlo Sidekick, an AI-powered natural language agent that simplifies security analytics. Powered by Gemini models through the Vertex platform, Menlo Sidekick helps security teams analyze the massive volume of data generated by browser traffic. Administrators can describe what they're looking for in natural language, reducing the time and expertise required for critical tasks such as threat identification, platform usage analysis, and security report generation.
