Mycroft Secures $3.5M Seed Funding to Expand AI-Driven Security and Compliance Platform

Mycroft has announced a $3.5 million seed funding round to expand its AI-driven Security and Compliance Officer platform for fast-growing companies. The investment was led by Luge Capital with participation from Brightspark Ventures and Graphite Ventures, alongside Ripple Ventures, Developer Capital, Antler, BoxOne Ventures, and strategic angels. This funding will enable Mycroft to enhance its AI's agentic capabilities and equip its security agents with more tools to work with.

The platform addresses a critical gap faced by startups and scaling organizations that need to meet enterprise-grade security and compliance standards before they have resources for dedicated teams. Mycroft replaces scattered tools and manual processes with an agentic AI system that continuously monitors infrastructure, secures devices, enforces policies, manages incidents, and prepares companies for audits. The system functions as a virtual teammate rather than traditional software, adapting to each company's environment and taking automatic action.

Mike Kim, Co-founder and CEO of Mycroft, explained the motivation behind the platform, stating that his career experiences with short-staffed security and compliance teams fueled his desire to build a platform that could supercharge lean teams serving critical functions. For companies building on emerging technologies or working in secure sectors, the attack surface areas are expanding rapidly, making comprehensive security essential from the earliest stages.

Mycroft already supports more than 50 customers, including fast-growing companies such as Superwhisper, Evolo, CoVet, Unified, Willful, Wisedocs, and Weave (YC25). The platform's approach to security and compliance represents a significant shift from traditional methods that often involve bloated, expensive systems disconnected from how companies actually operate. By replacing spreadsheet-driven audits and manual workflows with automated AI agents, Mycroft provides round-the-clock monitoring that ensures security postures remain current without requiring constant human intervention.

The funding announcement comes at a time when cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, particularly affecting organizations that may not have the resources for dedicated security personnel. Mycroft's solution combines the functions of a virtual CISO, GRC expert, and IT operations team into a single integrated system. This integrated approach allows companies to maintain compliance standards while focusing on their core business operations, potentially reducing the financial and operational burden of maintaining separate security tools and processes.
