NFL Star Jarvis Landry Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County in Sneaker Giveaway

Hundreds of children in Broward County started their school year on a positive note thanks to the efforts of NFL star Jarvis Landry and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. During the annual 'Lace Up for Learning' event, more than 500 children received brand-new sneakers, a gesture aimed at boosting their self-esteem and readiness for the academic year ahead. Landry, through his foundation, The Impact Group Project, played a pivotal role in the event, not only by sponsoring the hydration station but also by personally engaging with the children and their families.

The event, held at Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale, was more than just a sneaker giveaway. It was a day filled with joy, activities, and community support. Families enjoyed field games, music, and a barbeque sponsored by Comcast. Additionally, over 300 students received fully stocked school supply kits, courtesy of the BBX Capital Foundation. The day also offered complimentary haircuts and hair braiding, making it a comprehensive effort to ensure children felt confident and supported as they headed back to school.
