In response to these systemic pressures, HRO Today has opened nominations for the 2026 Front of the Frontline Awards, which will honor HR executives and teams demonstrating exceptional leadership in supporting healthcare frontline workers. The prestigious recognition program, now in its second decade, specifically targets HR professionals who have developed and implemented strategies that help healthcare workers remain engaged, resilient, and capable of delivering improved patient outcomes despite the sector's complex challenges. The awards ceremony will take place during the HRO Today People in Healthcare Summit in Phoenix, continuing the organization's tradition of highlighting HR excellence through its global forums.

The awards feature two primary categories designed to address different aspects of the healthcare workforce crisis. The Healthcare Leadership Award recognizes individual HR executives who have demonstrated strategic excellence in workforce planning and execution within healthcare organizations. Meanwhile, the Healthcare Talent Acquisition Team of the Year Award focuses on teams that have developed innovative approaches to recruitment and retention in an industry facing severe staffing shortages. Nominations for both categories can be submitted through the Nomination Form available on the HRO Today website.

Organizations have until November 21, 2025 to submit nominations for consideration, with no application fee required for participation. However, nominees selected as Leaders of Distinction must be available to attend the Phoenix summit where the awards will be presented.
