TBC Uzbekistan has expanded its digital banking services to non-residents, potentially integrating expatriates and visitors into Uzbekistan's financial system while broadening the bank's customer base.

TBC Bank Uzbekistan, the country's leading digital bank, has expanded access to its services to non-residents in Uzbekistan. Foreign nationals living in or visiting the country will now be able to access TBC UZ's range of digital banking products through the TBC UZ app. This expansion includes the flagship Salom Debit Card, deposits, transfers, utility payments and other services, offering non-residents the same digital experience as current customers.
The move represents a significant strategic expansion for Central Asia's leading digital banking ecosystem as it continues to scale its presence in Uzbekistan. By extending services to non-residents, TBC Uzbekistan is significantly widening its potential customer base beyond its current 21 million unique registered users, which represents more than 50% of Uzbekistan's population. This expansion creates new opportunities for the financial integration of highly-skilled expatriate workers, students and entrepreneurs while fueling the continued growth of the new digital economy.
Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion, stating that the company is opening a new gateway to Uzbekistan's financial system for people who come to study, work, or build a business. The expansion enables the digital banking ecosystem to tap into a sustainable new customer segment, boosting customer loyalty and engagement while generating diversified revenue streams. The company has already set new standards for retail and business banking in the region.
New non-resident customers can register remotely via the TBC UZ app, completing the online application and verifying their identity using their international passport, proof of temporary registration in Uzbekistan, personal identification number and local phone number. A TBC representative then meets with the new customer to sign the agreement and complete the onboarding process. Currently, these meetings are available only in Tashkent, but the service is set to be expanded nationwide before the end of the year.
TBC Uzbekistan's digital ecosystem extends beyond the core banking services offered through TBC UZ. The ecosystem also comprises Payme, a digital payments app for individuals and small businesses available at https://payme.uz, TBC Nasiya (TBC Instalments), a fast-growing instalment credit business, and TBC Insurance, its fully-digital insurance offering. Payme services are also available to non-residents, providing comprehensive financial access through the company's digital platforms. The company reached profitability just two years after launch, recording operating income of USD 62 million in the second quarter of 2025, with its loan and deposit books growing 105% and 86% year-over-year respectively.
