“4 cities. 2 states. 4 days. 1 comedian. Many jokes. Oh, plus some other comics opening the shows. But mainly this one headlining the shows. Myq Kaplan is the main one. That's me. Oh, and the states? Montana and Idaho. Now you know it all. 12 sentences or so. (Some fragments.) Still reading? Come to the shows!” -Myq Kaplan
Comedian Myq Kaplan is embarking on a four-city stand-up tour through Montana and Idaho, November 12-15, with a mission that may or may not be impossible: making people laugh, think, and occasionally reconsider everything they thought they understood about the universe.
Unofficially dubbed “Mission: Idaho / Montana: Impossible,” the tour brings Kaplan's distinctive blend of rapid-fire wordplay, philosophical observations and unexpected comedic connections to audiences across two states in four consecutive days.

Kaplan has appeared on The Tonight Show, Conan, Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing and America's Got Talent. His comedy explores everything from relationships and language to spirituality, human behavior and the strange business of being alive.
The four performances include an appearance at the Helena Comedy Festival, presented by 302 Comedy.
Four Cities. Four Shows. One Comedian. Several Possible Interpretations of Reality.
Kaplan's November itinerary includes:
-
Thursday, November 12: The Roxy Theater, Missoula, Montana, 8 PM.
-
Friday, November 13: Panida Little Theater, Sandpoint, Idaho, 7 PM.
-
Saturday, November 14: The Mill, Helena, Montana, 8 PM, as part of the Helena Comedy Festival.
-
Sunday, November 15: The Comedy Lounge, Boise, Idaho, 2 PM.
While the tour's unofficial title borrows from the language of action movies, audiences shouldn't expect helicopter chases, international espionage or elaborate disguises. They can, however, expect a comedian who can travel from an ordinary observation to an existential question and back again, sometimes within the same sentence.
A Different Kind of Stand-Up Experience
Over more than two decades of performing, Kaplan has built a comedy career around curiosity, intelligence and the willingness to examine familiar ideas from unfamiliar angles.
His material often moves between the personal and the philosophical, exploring relationships, consciousness, language and the contradictions that make human beings both fascinating and ridiculous.
Kaplan's latest hour-long comedy special, Rini, premiered on YouTube in November 2025. Developed with his partner, Rini, the special followed a critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and continues his exploration of love, connection and the humor found in everyday existence.
His comedy catalog also includes the Amazon special Small, Dork, and Handsome, the Dry Bar Comedy special Live From the Universe, and several stand-up albums.
His album A.K.A. debuted at number one on the iTunes comedy charts, while his debut album Vegan Mind Meld ranked among iTunes' top 10 comedy albums of its release year.
His work has also appeared beyond the stage through his podcasts The Faucet and Broccoli and Ice Cream, and his illustrated joke book Heart Brain Art Train, created with artist Ramin Nazer.
Comedy Worth Traveling For
The November performances offer audiences in Montana and Idaho an opportunity to see a nationally recognized comedian in intimate theater and comedy club settings.
The Helena performance will be part of the Helena Comedy Festival, which brings stand-up performers together for several days of comedy across the city.
For anyone familiar with Kaplan's television appearances, albums or specials, these shows offer the opportunity to experience his comedy in person. For newcomers, the tour provides four chances to discover why an ordinary sentence can become something entirely unexpected in Kaplan's hands.
And while “Mission: Idaho / Montana: Impossible” remains an unofficial title, the mission itself is straightforward: visit four cities, tell jokes, make people laugh, and perhaps leave a few audience members thinking about something they hadn't considered before.
