A Canadian court has rejected three consecutive contempt motions filed by Itaipú’s pension fund (Cajubi) against Eduardo García, dealing a major blow to a 15-year legal campaign centered on alleged missing funds. The rulings intensify scrutiny over the lawsuit itself, unresolved banking records, and broader allegations of judicial misconduct.

A lawyer filed a complaint with the CJC alleging that Ontario judges helped conceal a major fraud involving more than C$20.8 million from Itaipu. He argues that Canadian court rulings falsely blamed Mr. García while suppressing key bank records linked to Swiss and Canadian accounts, and is calling for an investigation and judicial accountability.
