Doors Open August 20: Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch Celebrates Its Grand Opening

The wait is nearly over. Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch will hold its grand opening at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, welcoming the Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne communities into a new, locally owned women's contemporary boutique in the Lemon Creek Ranch development. The opening caps a year of work for owner Kelli Hull, taking the store from a cold, dark concrete shell to a fully built-out boutique stocked with national designer brands and answering a question she first asked herself as a frustrated shopper: why was there nowhere nearby to buy contemporary designer clothing without a 45-minute drive into San Antonio?
"I kept hearing from other women that they had the same frustrations I did," Hull said. "On Thursday, that changes. We can't wait to open the doors and finally show everyone what we've built."

What to expect on opening day
The festivities begin early with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and a confetti pop at 9:30 a.m., followed by the doors officially opening to the public at 10 a.m. Shoppers will be among the first to walk the floor of the roughly 1,200-square-foot boutique and browse an assortment built so there is "something for everybody," including household contemporary names and emerging designers customers won't find anywhere else in the area. Hull and her team will be on hand to greet guests, offer styling help, and introduce the brands and experiences that set Monkee's apart. As an added celebration, the first 100 purchases on opening day will receive a special gift.
Throughout the grand opening weekend (Thursday-Saturday), guests can enjoy champagne, light bites, and giveaways from "Kelli's Favorite Things," featuring local partners like Heights Wellness, Golden Salon, Rooted Strength Fitness, Glossy Nail Bar, and others.
The store carries a curated mix Hull assembled on buying trips that took her all the way to showrooms in New York City. Paige denim - a "cult classic" - and FRAME anchor the contemporary offering, alongside dresses and elevated pieces from names like Milly, Shoshanna and Marie Oliver. Younger shoppers have been "over the moon," Hull said, about Aviator Nation, the brightly colored Malibu, California sweat-and-swimwear label. The timing is no accident: the August 20 opening lands just in time for the new school year.
While the grand opening is the focus, Hull is already looking toward the future. The boutique is already shopping for the 2027 season and will introduce several new brands in January, including Tecovas, Hunter Bell, AGL, and the New Braunfels-based label Sunshine Tienda.
"If you want to wear a basic top, a pair of denim and sneakers during the day, but then you have an event in the evening and you need to put on a cocktail dress, we're your one-stop shop to do all of that," Hull said.

More than a store
For Hull, opening day is also an introduction to a different way of shopping, one built around service and experience at a time when she believes both are in short supply.
"People are a little bit frustrated with a lack of customer service, not only in retail but in industries at large," Hull said. "We want every single person who comes in to feel a very elevated, experiential shopping experience." That means a glass of wine on the couch with girlfriends, head-to-toe personal styling, private after-hours events, and Sunday appointments for busy customers who can't make it in during the week.
It also comes with a promise. "It is my solemn vow that I'll never let anyone leave Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch in something that doesn't look phenomenal on them," Hull said. "When you look good, you feel good, and that projects out."
A boutique rooted in community and service
"We're one of the few veteran-owned and operated Monkee's in the country," Hull said. "Supporting the military community is something you'll continue to see us do for years to come."

The new boutique sits in the Lemon Creek Ranch development near Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne, a growing corridor anchored by H-E-B with direct access off I-10. Hull chose the location for its long-term promise and its everyday convenience: solid ingress and egress, and parking right out front. "You can drive right up to the store, park and walk in," she said. "Lemon Creek Ranch is great where it's at now, but it's only going to continue to get better."
