In a blog post related to the importance of coaching, adapted from his new book The Earned Life, the renowned leadership expert and bestselling author Marshall Goldsmith talks about how asking for help is a sign of growth.
“Coaching is an ongoing process, as open-ended as our desire to continue improving. None of us is perfect. We all should be asking for help.”
Goldsmith writes, “Coaching is an ongoing process, as open-ended as our desire to continue improving. The difference between teaching and coaching is the difference between “I want to learn” and “I need help to get better and better.” None of us is perfect. We’re all flawed human beings. We all should be asking for help.”
Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, has criticized what he called a lack of support from NATO since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine three months ago. Despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s impassioned pleas for help when the war began, Mr. Kuleba says that NATO has not done enough to protect the country, even if Ukraine is not part of that organization. Before the war, Ukrainians saw NATO as more forceful than the European Union. Since the invasion, he said, the trans-Atlantic alliance had failed to help Ukraine as an organization, though individual members have responded to President Zelensky’s calls for help in the fight against Russian aggression.
